Clapshot

Clapshot comes from Scotland and generally eaten with haggis.

 

1 ½ pounds chopped potatoes

1 ½ pounds chopped turnips/parsnips/Swedes

2tsp chopped chives

2 ounces dripping

Salt and pepper

 

Cook the vegetables in salty water until tender, drain and mash until smooth. Beat in the chopped chives, dripping, salt and pepper.
