The second Anglo Boer War brought to the general public’s attention not only new methods of fighting, new weapons, new battlefields and new experiences but it also highlighted famous and not so famous people. Generals that were beyond their ‘sell by date’, unheard of hero’s and men who were to become famous for deeds done after the war.
